Four thousand years ago 

the LORD, Yehovah

called Abram to go to the land of Canaan.  Because of his obedience Yehovah gave him a new name Abraham,

and promised that He would make his descendants into a great nation, through whom all nations of the earth would be blessed, that nation is Israel.

Through Israel Jesus Christ has come and revealed Himself to the world as

Son of man - Son of God

 Saviour and Messiah.
